Monthly playlist: April

 

Kicking off April with a new edition of the This chick's got style monthly playlist (first edition here)! An obvious choice was Matt Corby. He's basically a musically gifted (did I just say muscly gifted?!) Australian Justin Bobby lookalike covering Lonely boy by the Black Keys. Nothing not to love here. I added another Black Keys classic just for the sake of it, along with a goosebump-worthy cover of Lykke Li's 'I follow rivers' by the Belgian band Triggerfinger (top left, so good) and a few other tunes that have been on autorepeat for obvious reasons.

Outfit: Easy going

Just an easy going outfit that I threw on in probably under four minutes. This might be one of the few times you've ever seen me in blue jeans. Simply and only because I am so critical about my denim and often get turned off by an unnecessary detail/wrong blue tone/weird bleach placement/awkward pockets. So I stopped trying and often stick to black jeans, however, sometimes all you really want is a classic blue. So I'm very pleased to have added this pair that holds ground somewhere between skinny and boyfriend jeans and looks great with all my loafers and heels.

Seeing blue: Getting Curve-ID'd at Levi's

As with everything in life, the simplest things are often the hardest to find. Same goes for the perfect jeans. Whether we like ours bootcut, boyfriend or skinny, it’s one tough job to find a pair with the right wash and feel that – oh, yeah! – also fits us.    

So as you might know, Levi's developed a way to find jeans according to your body shape rather than focus on size. You can get measured in any of their stores and – based on specific body measurements – you’ll fit in to a Slight curve, Demi curve or Bold curve from their so-called Curve ID line. Smart thing, if you ask me, and for spring they’ve added shades like tomato red, indigo, coral and - for diehard skinny lovers like myself - a new ankle skinny.

Yesterday I attended the Levi's event with Chantal and Cindy, followed by a fun dinner date. I got measured (you're looking at a Demi curve!) and tried a pair of jeans that fitted me perfectly. Without any of the usual issues: too tight around the hips or too loose below your booty (and with the best vanity sizing ever...)

Spring it on

I recently came across these these two items while blog browsing, photographed in an H&M showroom, that I think are just great for spring. A jersey peplum tee - this ladylike shape in the most dressed down fabric ever is pretty genius - and a shiny necklace to finish off high neck tees or tanks.
