This two volume encyclopedia, edited by i-D creator Terry Jones, focusses on a hundred contemporary fashion designers that are shaping the styles of tomorrow.
It's a very heavy, beautiful and surprisingly affordable set of books with interviews and iconic pictures that tell us more about designers take on style, fashion, aesthetics and work. What I love about books like these is that you get a sense of designers personality, which I think is essential in understanding their collections ("I'd describe my work as Frankenstein and Garbo, falling in love in a leather bar" - Rick Owens).
